Verona Kearns' House

This watercolor recalls a house built in 1892, once owned by Verona Kearns and her husband, who also ran a small café and cozy beer garden beside it. The family carried on there until the 1950’s, when the property was sold. Though the house is now long gone—replaced by parking for residents of Plum Stone Court—the painting restores its presence with gentle strokes that carry both the memory of place and the feeling of home.
