Our Barn in Columbiana County

This watercolor shows the large yellow barn that stood on our ten acres in the country near Columbiana, Ohio, where we lived for 17 years. Built in the early 1900’s, it was the major building on our property, though we rarely used it. Here it rests in winter, surrounded by snow and quiet fields, the drifts adding to its sense of stillness and the enduring presence of place.
