Monroe Street Cemetery, one of Cleveland’s oldest cemeteries, was established in 1841. This watercolor captures its historic character and quiet presence—an architectural moment rooted in Cleveland’s past. The striking Gothic gatehouse, designed by Walter Blythe and built in 1876 for $4,768, has long stood as a local landmark. In the spring of 2014, it was completely deconstructed and carefully restored. A thoughtful piece for regional home decor, reflective guest spaces, or hospitality interiors with a sense of place.
