Japanese Maple at Willow Pond

This watercolor recalls the time we lived in the country, where a crowded grove of locust trees grew on our property. When we thinned the grove, we discovered a stunted Japanese maple hidden among them. Free of the competition, the tree flourished and soon became a gorgeous addition to the pond, its graceful branches and reflections bringing beauty to the landscape.
