An original watercolor captures a quiet hillside where crocus bloom across the ground in soft washes of lavender, pale pink, and gold. Bare tree branches rise above the field, holding onto the last traces of winter while the first signs of spring spread below. My son Tim and I were walking through one of Cleveland’s older neighborhoods when we came across this hill filled with crocus in bloom, and it was breathtaking. The contrast between the stillness of the trees and the gentle color of the flowers reflects that brief, shifting moment between seasons, something that feels both grounded in Cleveland and quietly full of renewal.
